The work abroad program: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/canadians/international-experience-canada.html

I just found out about this program and was hoping there'd be more south american countries on the list, but since there isn't I would be interested in going to a 2nd option. I figure this is how the few irish, british, and australians i've met over the years were able to spend working summers here.

Looking for canadian perspectives. Which country did you choose, and how was the application process?

Thank you.

My little brother is 14 and starting to gain independence. He wants to do things on his own but doesn't know how, for example, cooking. Our mom's stopped being a reputable source to him (thx to him being a teen) but thankfully he trusts his older sister. I've cooked twice with him before, breakfast and then boxed brownies. Both very simple. He joined without me asking and seemed very interested in the process.

He made a really silly mistake in the kitchen recently so I want to cook something with him that will gently teach him some simple cooking/kitchen lessons. For example, chopping skills, cooking meat, boiling/simmering, etc. I'm far from a chef but I think it's important to learn by doing rather than being told.

Can you guys please recommend a couple of entrees we could make together? I am thinking some type of meat (cooked with onions, maybe other veggies) and mashed potatos or a garlic rice. Veggies on the side would be great but need less creativity from me.

So far I am considering:

- braised beef on mashed potatoes, oven roasted carrots

- baby shower meatballs, garlic rice or garlic roasted potatos, roasted bell peppers or broccoli

- and thats it.

Thanks ahead of time 😄
