I’ve been benchmarking several free VPN tiers over the past few weeks, and the congestion on Proton VPN's free nodes has been getting worse, especially with the recent handshake delays.

​I came across a bot that generates clean WireGuard and V2Ray configs. What caught my attention is that it doesn't seem to have the same bandwidth throttling. I’ve been getting much lower latency on 1080p/4K streams compared to standard free providers. It supports multiple endpoints and the MTU settings are well-optimized right out of the box.
