35YO looking to get braces
Just got back from a consultation and they quoted me $8000. Insurance covers $2500, there's a $500 discount, so I'd have to pay $5000 out of pocket for a 17 month treatment plan.
They use something called Pitts21 braces - I asked about the cost changes with Invisalign or traditional braces and they said it'd be the same either way, except with potentially longer treatment time.
This is in the Seattle area. Am I overpaying or is this pretty much par for the course?
I've also got a choice between full metal and hybrid ceramic front teeth / rest metal, both self ligating. I'm thinking of going for the ceramic fronts instead of full metal. Should I be convinced otherwise?
