Got a pair of JBL LSR 305 monitors, scarlet interface and my QC. Trying to make sure I have everything setup correctly as I've never thought the QC and these monitors sounded great.

ChadGPT says to set my output in I/O settings to line level but I don't see what anywhere in the windows app. I don't see anywhere to change it to line, what am I missing?

What this actually does

  • Line level = hotter signal (best for studio monitors, mixers, FRFR speakers)
  • Instrument level = lower signal (for amps/pedals expecting guitar-level input)

I run a small pedal board, greer lightspeed, wampler tumnus, crazy tube circuit fuzz and a boss EQ7. Should it always be set to line level whether I'm using my fender FR12 or going thru my JBL monitors?

When my PC goes to sleep, upon wake the mini monitor never comes back on. I have to unplug the power cord, plug it in a few times and it comes back on.

Does this a lot when the PC is completely shut down and I power it on via the power button. Same issue.

Saw people loved these on forums a few months ago and can’t say I’m that impressed. I know they’re not top of the line but what would be a decent upgrade? I don’t record, just jam at home with neural plugins when I’m not running my QC to my fender FR12s.

Don’t want to drop $1000 but something around the 500-700 $ range?

I use a scarlet 212i for what it’s worth and windows.

If I'm wanting to create a new preset, I'll pick an amp and a cab and go from there. My question is where should I start with the volume on the FR12? I play in a band with some friends. Should I leave the volume at noon and then adjust the output/volume on the QC or set the FR12 volume higher?

The amps aren't plug and play when making a new preset so I'm also wondering what is overdoing is on the output level on the QC.
