(new to cages) Need help with top mounting option for my livestream setup
Previously my Canon was mounted on a floor tripod... however I recently wanted to move it off the floor and foward over my desk so I wanted to connect it to the ceiling to avoid any desk shakes and the like.
Anyways... I have a smallrig cage set-up and a ceiling extension pole that terminates in a 1/4-20 nut.
I use a smallrig ballhead mount I had laying around to connect the two together and provide some flexibility however....
The mounting isn't centered... the center mount for the smallrig cage is a 3/8-16 with two small locater pin holes besides it (an ARRI mount I believe)>
the ball mount isn't very tight... and when I turn on the camera or reposition it it tends to torque and start to twist out...
I've never built a rig before so I have no idea what options are out there for solving my mounting issue but ideally I want something that can tie my ceiling connection into my cage in a way that provides some positioning flexibility and is a sturdier and less twisty connection than what I've got a with a simple ballhead.
Thanks in advance!
