Why not give everyone the Valedictorian prize?

There is a high school on Long Island that literally made 21 students valedictorian.

Are you kidding me?

Why not just make the whole grade valedictorian too while you are at it?

The grade inflation and craziness of the parents must be unreal at that school that admin is probably terrified of telling students and parents ‘no’

Kids run the school

I am a substitute teacher in NY. I was subbing for a class of seniors and after I took attendance they just left. I called for them to come back but they ignored me.

To cover my bases, I told the principal but when I was talking with one of the kids that cut and he told me that the kids have figured out that admin won’t doing anything if the whole class cuts.

Like seriously?

Admin is so spineless and afraid of the parents (and by extension the kids) that the students literally know that the most admin will do is wag their figure at these kids all while passing them through.

Kids literally do whatever they want with admin more often than not using teachers as scapegoats to cover up their failings.

What kind of lesson is this teaching our next generation?

Why is there so much mental illness in the schools (and society as a whole)?

Is it the phones? Social media? Micro plastics? Or was it always a problem and people are just talking about it now?

Do you think how admin treats teachers plays a part in how students treat teachers

Sometimes it seems that students have more rights than teachers and students are allowed to scream and yell at teachers with little to no consequences but if a teacher even thinks of discipling a student there is a all out investigation to nail the teacher for something

Although there are some great content creators like Bald and Bankrupt that teach history and visit interesting countries, a lot of the content creators are a negative influence on students as they give the illusion that life can essentially be a glorified vacation without explaining all the hard work that goes into filming and editing. In my opinion, it is almost as bad as AI has been for students

I am a tutor and I am amazed at how teachers literally hold their students’ hands to the point where I am strangely impressed by the kids that still fail.

The United States spends more money on education than any other nation but through the billions we pour out on salaries and technology, our kids are not any smarter (in fact intellectual curiosity has plummeted for most students).

I genuinely think with all the school initiatives and technology schools instill, most administrators essentially just want to give the appearance that students are learning rather than actually gaining knowledge to justify their jobs.

Am I wrong?
