Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some advice and wanting to see if I'm missing something..

My partner is a non-eu citizen and I'm a EU citizen. We are not married nor in any sort of registered partnership or anything. We live together though and have for past 3 years.

I keep on seeing mentions of pareja de hecho but it seems it might not be strictly necessary.

She would need a visa to get into Spain and this link https://www.exteriores.gob.es/Consulados/losangeles/en/ServiciosConsulares/Paginas/Consular/Visados-para-familiares-de-ciudadanos-de-la-Union.aspx

Says

> The following can obtain a visa for family members of a citizen of the Union:

**The unregistered partner, provided that stable cohabitation for a minimum period of one year can be duly attested. When there are children in common, it will be sufficient to ascertain stable cohabitation.**

Furthermore,

https://administracion.gob.es/pag_Home/en/Tu-espacio-europeo/derechos-obligaciones/ciudadanos/residencia/obtencion-residencia/inscribir-familiares-no-ue.html

Makes it clear that one year cohabitation proof seems to be sufficient without registration.

So the main question is: do we need to do the pareja de hecho process? Or do we simply show a substantial amount of proof of cohabitation and our long term relationship?
