Added wild minnows and now my tetras’ fins are getting shredded please help ASAP
Hi everyone,
I’m pretty new to fishkeeping and could really use some advice.
I have a 20-gallon tank with 5 tetras, mollies and khuli fish. My son recently found a couple of sheephead minnows stuck in rainwater and wanted to save them, so we added them to the tank.
Unfortunately, the minnows started nipping at the tetras, and now some of the tetras have damaged fins.
I’m worried about them and want to do the right thing.
•Should I remove the minnows immediately?
•Do I need a hospital tank?
•Is there anything I should add to the water to help the fins heal?
•How can I tell if it’s turning into fin rot?
Any advice would really mean a lot — thank you! Is there anything I should add to the water to help the fins heal?

I haven’t tested my water yet (I can if needed), but I can do a water change right away.
Any advice would really mean a lot — thank you!
