I am a new teacher coming up on my second term teaching English in Thailand. I am teaching English as a second language to students aged 15 to 25. My students range from fluent to hardly able to read (all within one class). I love the freedom I have at my school (no required textbook, no benchmarks, no syllabus except my own), but I would love any and all resources/guidance, especially if it is free!
I see students once a week for either 1 hour or 2. My classes range in size from 3 kids in a room to 30. My goal for them is less about fluency and more about confidence and curiosity. Last semester we played a lot of games but I struggled with tracking progress, if they made any. I still want my class to be full of games and movement. I hate lecturing so the less I have to do that the better. I want to challenge my students that are fluent and help bring those who aren't to a place where they feel confident enough to ask questions in class and make mistakes. This is so broad and vague so if there are any follow-up questions please let me know.
