I am a 70 year old Male. For the last 18 months I have an increasingly intense radiating pain in both hips and through the back of both thighs which felt like an electrical shock. I also had a persistent ache in my lower back. I tried chiropractic treatments, acupuncture and physical therapy. All of which provided temporary relief lasting less than 24 hours after treatment. My pain was steadily increasing. I have dreaded for more than a year the process of simply getting out of bed.

I sought treatment at Biospine with Dr. Anthony Cucchi. He referred me for a MRI. The MRI revealed several bulging disks from L2 through L5. I had 3mm spondylolisthesis at L 5 and S 1. But my most significant problem was severe spinal stenosis at L 3 and L 5. As my symptoms intensified I had very sharp pain in my right knee cap.

This morning I was treated with a minimally invasive laminectomy perform by Dr. Cucchi. I cannot say enough good things about Biospine, Dr. Cucchi and his entire staff. Their collective skill, competence, and demeanor are nothing short of world class.

I arrived at 6:30 am. My pre-op procedures were completed before 8:00 am. My surgery was the second procedure for the day. During the surgery they found and removed also a synovial cyst. I awoke in recovery about 10:00 am. I immediately noticed I had no more radiating pain and zero pain in my knee caps. My incision site was definitely tender and. I remarkably had none of the pain which had haunted me for 18 months. I dressed and promptly walked with the aid of a walker to the restroom. Then I was allowed to sit upright in a chair. I left the surgery center walking without the aid of a walker.

I am now about 6 hours post surgery. No radiating pain, no sharp knee cap pain, no sciatica like symptoms at all. The incision site is sore.

I am told not everyone has such immediate relief from the surgery. I am happily one of the lucky ones.

I sing high praise to Biospine and Dr. Cucchi. This somewhat complex procedure went like clockwork and I believe my outcome will be excellent. I want to report these apparently good results to give others hope.
