Hello looking for lens options for Z5ii. Very much a beginner and would probably be on the bleachers for pro days and could probably get decently close for HPDE days . Would like to do it as cheaply as possible

Looking at tamron 70-300 vs 50-400

70-300 has no image stabilization. Is that needed for panning shots ? Just want to get out there and practice . Only lens I have is the 50mm 1.8s

Just picked up a Z5ii after using my wife’s d3400 and a 35mm 1.8 gx lens. My goal is motorsports photography so I’ll get a big boi lens for that but for carry around snapping memories and “street” vacation photos looking for something light and smaller .

I got the nikkor 50mm/1.8s and I love it. Just not a fan of the weight/size. I can deal with it but if I can go lighter while saving the some autofocus/clarity I may trade it for something like the 40 or 50mm from Viltrox. What do you guys recommend ? Should I go nikon 40 or Viltrox 50 or deal with the size
