Competitions for second year undergrad student

I recently posted my resume in a subReddit for feedback. One of the advices I got was that my resume lacks value and I should work on research papers, participate in competitions, etc.

So my question is as an 18 y/o studying in a tier 2 university in India, what are the competitions I can participate in? And how can it be beneficial to me?

How is Chittorgarh’s accuracy??

I’ve been working on a thesis on Indian IPO markets and wanted to retrieve data like issue size, listing day open and close, etc.

For that I find Chittorgarh’s UI very helpful but I don’t know how accurate the data is listed in the website. Can someone tell me how accurate the data in Chittorgarh website is?

Edit - I though research paper and thesis is same 😭😭. I’m actually writing a research paper as a second year undergrad student.

It’ll really help me. Thank you 🙏🏻 🙏🏻

How to get internships??

I’ve just completed my first year from a tier 2 university in India and I’m actively looking for internships but I’m getting zero responses. What are the best ways to get an interview for an internship.

Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks for your help 🙏🏻🙏🏻

I just wrapped up my first year from a tier 1 college studying finance in India. I am really curious about the Quantitative side of finance. So from second semester onwards I started learning python and was watching videos on YouTube on how different models are made and how they work.

Now as an 18 year old entering my second year knowing just the basics of python, planning to clear at least CFA Level 1 before my graduation and actively looking for internships, what are the things I should prioritise?

And what other skills do I need to learn quantitative finance?

With AI progression and increasing competition what would you do as an 18 year old if:

You’re studying finance but also willing to learn about newer industries.

I just wrapped up my first year studying finance and was looking out for certifications ( for Mutual Fund Distribution, investment advisor, etc.)

While evaluating I saw that being a distributor on average gets you 0.6-0.7% commission in India which is quite low and to be a registered investment advisor I’ll have to complete my graduation and even after that I’ll need experience from an experienced RIA and there are a very few opportunities to work under a seasoned investment advisor in India.

I expect myself to at least clear CFA level 1 before my graduation. And I’m actively looking out for internships . PFA my resume and would love if you could give your opinions about it.

So my question is that as an eighteen year old student in finance how should I go forward in long run? With AI progression and increasing competition what should be the ideal steps to progress and skills that one should learn?

Very grateful for any advice you can provide
