Need urgent help with tenants who haven't been paying rent for months and might be doing some shady side buisness?
Hi All - I'm writing on behalf of my dad, who is currently renting his other property to a few tenants who are causing a lot of problems. For context, my dad rented this property out to two refugee families from Romania that came here a year ago. They were pretty good on the rent for a while but for the last 3 months they haven't paid at all. The issue is - we know they have money. They seem to have a business where they buy and sell cars and work on them as well. These cars sit without license plates in the driveway and few of them are commercial vehicles as well. I don't think they have a licence to do this. They also seem to get some support from the government as well.
I served them with an N4 a week ago (way too late I know), and have been trying to make some deal with them to sign an N11 via a reduced owing amount or a cash for keys deal. Another issue is, that I need to move into this property with my wife in July after we get married. I can start supporting my Dad and June but we want these guys gone as fast as we can.
Is there anything else that can be done, especially on the legal front regarding their business, where we can make them move out faster?
