So, being the beginner that I am, I took my brand new black car through an automatic car wash with brushes. Yes. I know. I work with autistic kids and one of my little clients told me he had never gone in an automatic car wash of his life and I wanted to make live that experience. It only occurred to me later that going through an old school car wash with a brand new car was impulsive and dumb.

It created subtle swirl marks (vertical, not circular). You can especially see them on certain parts of the car that seem to be a different material (I'm so not a car person sorry), in certain lightings and up close, but still. I don't know if I'm imagining things, but the car as a whole looks a bit less shiny than when I bought it. I wouldn't say it looks old or damaged, but the difference is enough to annoy me. I only bought it 4 months ago.

What should I do to restore the shine? What exact service should I ask the detailer for? Would it even be worth it? I work on the road, so I drive long distances every day, and I live in Canada, so my car will have snow and ice on it for most of the year. ChatGPT told me that getting the paint of your car detailed too many times in your car's life can damage your car. Should I do something to restore the shine now or is it too soon?

My car cost me $40k, in case that influences your advice on what I should do.
