Hey everyone. Currently 23 weeks along, and I'm one of the unlucky few who didn't get the burst of energy/ "the glow" in second trimester – I'm not nauseous anymore, but I've had terrible exhaustion and brain fog which has led to a lot of low moods and feelings of overwhelm. I initially blamed it on my pregnancy rhinitis, which I have had on and off since the start and has disrupted my sleep. But even on days where my congestion wasn't so bad, I realised I was still experiencing the brain fog.

I raised it with my ob-gyn during my check-up yesterday, and she suggested it could be linked to my SSRIs – I take 25mg of setraline (aka zoloft) daily. She said that the increased blood in my body could change the way it works, and advised me to get a psychiatrist appointment to see if my dose needs to be adjusted. She is giving me glucose and iron tests next week, but said she doesn't suspect it is due to these.

I am currently searching for a psych appointment, but in the meantime I wanted to see if anyone else had had similar experiences? Her explanation seems slightly odd to me, but then again I do remember getting brain fog and sleep problems back in the transition period when i first started taking the medication several years ago. Also, due to the general brain fog and overwhelm, I haven't been great at taking my medication at the same time each day – which wasn't usually a problem before I was pregnant, but now i can see might be more problematic with all the extra hormones.
