Sometimes my characters show up before the story does.
She feels like someone who’s lived through things she never asked for — the kind of quiet strength and buried memory I write about in my books.

I don’t know her full story yet, but I know she carries it in her eyes.

Some stories don’t just entertain us — they rescue us.
They pull us out of places we didn’t know how to escape.
They remind us that imagination is a kind of survival.
