I've been read a lot about the civil war recently, mostly from the side of the north, though I have recently delved into the writings of some confederates, I started Walter Geers campaigns of the civil war, and I was very excited to read it but the forward seems to add to the lost cause myth? The foreword claims had Jackson been alive with Lee at Gettysburg the south would have won. It also claims Lee fell due to the numbers of the North. The author does call Grant and Sherman great generals though. Has anyone else read this book? Is it accurate or lost cause propaganda?
