Hi all, I’m not very knowledgeable about cars and need some advice.

I live in the UK and I’m looking for a reliable family car on a limited budget. Budget is around 15K. I’m also considering used cars.

I’m unsure what type to choose. Petrol, hybrid, or electric? Are electric cars really cheaper in the long run? Or hybrids worth it?

Given a tight budget, what would you recommend? Also, which brands and models are the most reliable and low-maintenance?

Edit: I do have space to install a home charging point for EV
