Hi everyone!

My partner and I are renovating our apartment to make the layout more functional and improve the overall flow. It’s just the two of us (no kids), and we could really use some fresh architectural eyes on this.

(Note: Areas are in square meters, and the linear wall measurements are in meters, e.g., 5.35 = 5m 35cm).

Our main problem area: The Kitchen (5.58 m²) is currently a big issue. It’s simply too narrow to comfortably fit cabinets on both sides and walk through. We honestly have no idea how to fix it or what makes the most sense for the flow of the apartment. Fully open to the living room? Semi-open? Adding a breakfast bar? We are open to all proposals and would love to know what you think works best for this specific geometry.

Other things we'd love to improve:

  • The Bathroom & Corridor: The bathroom is tiny (3.27 m²). Right outside of it, there is a 2.25 m² corridor that feels like completely wasted space just to connect doors.
  • The Diagonal Walls: The exterior wall in both bedrooms is diagonal, which makes the spaces a bit awkward. We'll use the larger one (10.38 m²) as the master and the smaller one (7.76 m²) as a home office/guest room.

We are just looking for ideas on how to reconfigure this floor plan so it makes more sense. What would you do? Any rough sketches, layout ideas, or architectural tweaks to improve this whole thing would be amazing!

Thank you so much!
