I am dealing with a lot of different types of corruption going on in and around my building.
I'll start off with the lack of proper maintenance in my building. The most dangerous I would say is My Heater, in the middle of the coldest days of the winter my heater doesn't work properly. Basically all that my heater can do is turn on and be a little bit warm to the touch but it does not keep my room up to a comfortable temperature. But also I have two big windows that haven't been installed properly so in the winter time I get a very cold air draft that comes into my room and causes even more discomfort to me. In the middle of the winter I have to where three sweaters and one jacket for me to not shiver and when maintenance comes to check the heater they just touch the heater and say "it's warm to the touch so it means it's at 100°F." When I tell maintenance about the windows they don't reply back to me at all. I have never lived in a apartment where in the winter time I need to wear a sweater and my winter jacket the whole time I'm inside my room? The heaters in the hallways are warmer than the heater in my room.
My apartment refuses to do basic maintenance like the first day I moved in and took a hot shower the paint in the washroom started to peel off the walls. I told management and they refuse to repaint my washroom and use proper waterproof paint. Also the vent in my washroom has been broken even before I moved in. The landlord told me he will fix the vent but it has been years now and it's still completely broken. They haven't properly sealed the cupboards in my dining area, there's literally holes in my cupboards that infestations like cockroaches, and bed bugs, that come out of these holes. I will make a maintenance order and then will not hear back from anybody.
The maintenance and management in my building, will allow tenants to leave their garbage in the hallways and stairwells they will also allow them to literally defecate in the hallways also management will allow tenants to smoke cigarettes in the hallways and stairwells. I also caught maintenance smoking cigarettes downstairs in the common room. When I make a complaint about other tenants in the building peeing and pooing in the hallways maintenance literally came to my door and try to silence me to not make any more complaints. the head of maintenance in my building told me "if you see any biohazards in the hallway you need to deal with it!" he also told me " I can't do anything about biohazards in the hallway"
P.S. Ever since I lived here there's been a Murder every summer right outside my window, one year two murders. literally 20 meters away from my window. The cameras are so poorly maintain and a lack of enough cameras that the police never know or see what's happening. Management are so cheap that they won't even buy cameras to protect the playground.
