Landlord Issues (ny).
I 33(M) is having issues with my landlord.
I’ve signed a lease with the landlord at the beginning of living there, for 1090. It’s since went up 3 times in under 1 year. I never received anything saying my rent was going from 1200 to 1300. (Exceeds the 5%). Because of this I still plan on paying $1200 since it was an illegal raise. This man acts out of spite, for example opening my sports car door and leaving it open all night long. Sometimes using a slim Jim (last time he did it the car was locked). All of a sudden it stopped when I told him there’s a camera on the car.
He’s told me before, a few times, if I don’t pay his rent, he’s turning off the water. He claims someone he knows did it and it was legal to do. I’ve read it’s not.
Any advice? 😬
