[Casual] Pet owners — 2-min survey about a free pet identity app (All welcome)
Hey! I'm a developer and pet owner building PetSpot — a completely free app that gives every pet a digital identity. No subscriptions, no paywalls, no hardware to buy.
The problem: 10 million pets get lost in the US every year. Only 15-20% without chips are returned. And even with a chip — no easy way to keep medical records or alert your neighborhood instantly.
What it does (all free):
• QR tag on collar — anyone scans, sees your contact info
• Digital medical passport — vaccines, allergies, vet history
• SOS alert — one tap notifies nearby pet owners
• Auto-generated lost pet poster with photo & QR for printing
• Dog-friendly places map (NYC, SF, LA)
• Vet/groomer/walker finder
• Breed encyclopedia
• Works with multiple pets
I have a fully working prototype. Before launching, I want honest feedback — am I solving a real problem?
