I though I saved this book title to my Kindle Unlimited TBR list about a year ago, but apparently I did not. From what I remember the book was written by a an indie author (possibly a debut novel but not sure) published within the past few years about two childhood friends that grew up in different social classes. The MMC was part of a mining class and the FMC part of an upper class for this world. I think there was a turn of events where the FMC thought the MMC was "gone" due to an accident only for him to reappear years later on the opposite side of a growing rebellion fueled by the class tensions. There may have been an academic setting where they meet and that is how the FMC realizes the MMC is still alive, but I can't remember that for sure. If this sounds like something you have read or come across either on kindle unlimited or other platforms I'd greatly appreciate the help in finding this book!
