Issue with RE4 Gold Edition v1.5.0.0 – Fatal D3D Error / Won’t Launch (DXGI_ERROR_DRIVER_INTERNAL_ERROR) – Files Verified

Hey, looking for help, I've already gone pretty deep troubleshooting this and I’m stuck. Any help appreciated, trying to narrow this down without just blindly reinstalling everything again. Resident Evil 4 will not launch.

Sometimes throws:

**Fatal D3D Error 30 DXGI_ERROR_DRIVER_INTERNAL_ERROR (0x887A0020)**

Other times:

* Shows in Task Manager briefly

* No window ever opens

What I’ve VERIFIED (with screenshots)

1.) File integrity (source + install)

* Ran QuickSFV BIN check → ALL FILES OK

* Ran full SHA256 hash verification on install folder

* No missing files

* No zero-byte files

2.) Game folder / launch method

* Running directly from game folder (`re4.exe`)

* Not using a shortcut or launcher

3.) Required files present

* `winmm.dll` is present in the game folder

* Aware this file often gets removed by AV, but confirmed it is intact

4.) System / specs (with proof)

* CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X

* GPU: RX 7600

* RAM: 16GB DDR5

* Motherboard: ASRock B650M-C

* OS: Windows 11 Home 25H2 (Build 26200.8328)

5.) Environment / system state

* Clean GPU driver install using DDU (safe mode)

* Installed driver-only (no Adrenalin)

* No overlays running (Steam, Discord, Xbox, Radeon all closed)

* AV/WD exclusion set for entire game folder

* Smart App Control disabled

6.) Install details

* Version: v1.5.0.0 (Gold Edition)

* Source: 1337x (FitGirl repack from description link)

**What I’ve ruled out**

* Corrupt download ❌

* Broken install ❌

* Missing files ❌

* AV deleting required files or interfering with the game ❌

* Overlay conflicts ❌

* Windows corruption ❌

**What I’m trying to figure out**

Given that file integrity checks passed and the issue occurs during DX12 initialization, I suspect either a driver-level incompatibility or an issue with how this build interfaces with DX12.

At this point, is this:

A. DX12 / AMD driver compatibility issue (specific to RE Engine)?

B. Problem with this specific build/version?

C. Something else I’m missing?

Included screenshots:

* BIN check (QuickSFV)

* Full SHA256 verification output

* CPU-Z (CPU / GPU / RAM / motherboard / OS)

* Game folder structure

* Config files

* Error message
