I started an addition on my house and am in need of Windows. My builder said I should do something higher end and more efficient than Vinyl. I think he bid it at like 30k for windows, I’m not 100% sure. I also don’t know what windows he was thinking of putting in but I get bored on the weekends and like to research things.

I need let’s say- 35 windows, I counted 31 but I’m sure there are probably a couple in the garage so I gave myself a cushion. If I do my sunroom and porch we will need 15 more.

What is a good long term window? I believe we currently have casement windows, but they are all old and inefficient. They are also orange originally but we painted them black when we first bought the house. We will be installing black windows.

We are doing a large addition and renovation on our house. It had a full brick exterior on the front of the house but we never loved the brick. My wife wants to do a lighter brick wainscoting with a siding material on the upper half to give us the newer “farmhouse charm.” I’ll probably do the new brick on the entire new garage and the existing screened in porch. (not sure about stone, she doesn’t like the fake stone look as much)

What are the best siding materials?

My office has brick with hardie board accents and it looks fantastic but my wife says the hardie board looks “a little fake” at times. I love that I don’t have to do any upkeep on the hardie board though.
