Making 80s bustle dress more proper for day wear?

This is my second post on similar topic and im so sorry for that. 70-80s were always something i didn't really enjoy, but it seems that my frontal lobe developed and i have need to have at least one or two dresses. Only problem is the bustle! I don't mind being different with my clothes since i already dress in edwardian fashion, and im not only one to do it in my uny but full bustle would be too much even for me. Any idea how to make dress like this with minimum of the bustle? I saw that some 80s dresses looks like they almost have none. Amy recommendations what to do to in the same time stay in some historical accuracy (not fully of course).

Does anyone recognize this painting or it's motives?

It seems to me like those two girls are engaged in some sort of romantic relationship, especially since there is little angel that i believe it is supposed to represent the cupid on their left side spying on them. What is queer in this is that it's produced in communist county, where being gay was iligal and it's thought to be mental illness.

XIX century Serbian women

I wanted to share this Portrait i found in Belimarkovich castle. It is a portrait of Jovan Belimarkovich. In terms of fashion it is really interesting portrait. Serbia at through its history was in between two worlds european Austrouhungary and Oriental Ottoman empire. After Ottomans were expelled from Serbia, cultural reform began, which included fashion. Women would dress in fashionable siluets influenced by English and Germans but they would often wear Libade over them mixing bith worlds.
