I had picked up my first gravel bike a few months ago - a 2025 Cannondale Topstone 3. I'm 5'8" and I would normally get a medium frame, but I ended up getting a small.
When I bought it at Sporting Life, the store assistant highly recommended I get a small instead of a medium because he mentioned the Topstone 3 runs a little big. Since they didn't have either of the sizes available on the floor at that exact moment, I couldn't get on to test ride it and feel it out for myself.
Now that I'm riding it, I feel a little cramped. Initially, I told myself it was just in my mind and probably just because I'm not used to drop handlebars yet. But when I stand up out of the saddle to ride, my knees come very close to the handlebars and have actually hit my phone holder a couple of times.
I feel like it's a little too cramped, but I'm wondering if I'm just overthinking it? Do any of you guys have any suggestions or fit adjustments I could try? I can’t return or exchange since its been a few months.

PS. It’s a lot of fun to ride but I guess I am just second guessing the size.
