I have an H-1B and H-4 visa appointment scheduled for 2027 in hyd, India. I originally booked it using my current I-797 petition details. However, I expect to switch to a new employer in the coming months, and they will file a new H-1B petition.
My DS-160 is still active, and I can update it before the appointment with new employer details. I had a few questions:
Can I simply update the DS-160 with the new petitioner’s details once the transfer is complete?
Is it okay that I paid the visa fee using my current petitioner’s information, even if the updated DS-160 reflects the new employer?
Or should I fill and submit the current DS-160, and then submit a new one with the updated details closer to the appointment date?
What would be the best approach in this situation?
