I recently finished Accutane 1 month ago. The pimples are gone but I have a lot of PIH and uneven skin tone. I got sunburn while on acccutane too and my face is still recovering 3 months later. The left side on my face is dark while the center is lighter. Was wondering if anyone has experienced this before or if this is similar to melasma. Also any advice of getting rid of the PIH and evening out my skin tone? Thanks
Finally done with Accutane. I’ve met my culmative dose, though not at the high end I’m ok with stopping. Overall, I have no active pimples. My face does have a lot of PIH and skin darkening from the purge and Accutane photosensitivity (I did wear sunscreen and reapply religiously). I will say that my face looked better before starting Accutane. I had moderate persistent acne so my face was never clear but I never had this much PIH and overall uneven skin tone/dullness. I still think Accutane is a good decision for many but I wanted to give the real that everyone doesn’t have this dramatic before and after and some of us look worse after due to the scarring from the purge. Now I plan to work on the hyperpigmentation and hopefully the acne stays away.
