I’ve seen others ask this question but the situations didn’t seem to be similar. I have used my Venmo balance a lot over the years. I’ll use it for Ubers and such. Just this last week, if I selected Venmo when I was on uber, it took it out of my Venmo balance. Yesterday I selected Venmo as I always have when getting an uber but this time it didn’t come out of my Venmo balance, but instead charged my bank account through Venmo. My Venmo balance remains the same, the money came out of my bank and the charge on my bank transactions says “Venmo, purchase”? I don’t understand why it has suddenly switched to using my bank account THROUGH Venmo when it has always used my Venmo balance. Has anyone else experienced this? And is there any way to change it? I keep money in my Venmo balance to specifically use my physical and digital Venmo cards, and up to this point I haven’t had an issue.
