[NGD] First SSS guitar
Just found this in a pawn shop just after spending a few hours testing different Strats in a music store. I was surprised by this Jet JS-300 at 240€, but managed to find it at… 115€ !
This is my first real strat (I have a HH superstrat), and I really wanted one to play different things than on my HH’s guitars. At that price it’s really good.
I didn’t like the tuners though, so I switched them out for Gotoh’s locking ones, and it’s much better. Strings were awful too, same for the setup, all over the place. However I can’t say it’s Jet’s fault because I don’t know what the previous owner did with it.
Anyway, after a good setup (first time I’m doing one !), new strings and tuners, the guitar is quite good ! Especially for a total of 170€ !
I know I won’t keep it long term, but I will enjoy tinkering with it, and learning about setting up and modifying a guitar.
The best advantage with this one is : I am not intimidated to do anything with it, things I wouldn’t do on my 2000€ Ibanez AZ2402 Prestige, or my PRS SE CE24 satin.
