This is my m50b25nv. I’ve send it out to get rebuilt but when I started the car it just kept on smoking out the exhaust. First I thought is was just some oil that was left from the rebuilt but it didn’t go away.
Then I decided to take the head of and to my surprise I discovered that the intake and exhaust valves were all swapped. (Intake on exhaust side and exhaust on intake side) You should have seen the look on my face when I realised…
When I looked at the block itself I discovered that the valves had “eaten” some chunks out of the top of cilinder walls. (See pic)
Is this bad? In other words: Should I demand a resleeved block from the company that rebuilt the engine for me?
They have offered to redo the head. But I’m not sure if that is enough of a fix.
