PaCE PAR Performance Scoring 25-26
Fellow CAF members,
Quick question for this year’s PAR cycle — are others finding that performance is being heavily assessed based on the perceived complexity of the job, as determined by whoever is writing the PAR?
In some cases, that judgment is coming from individuals in different trades/branches who may not fully understand what the role actually entails.
There also seems to be a growing mindset that someone in a “higher complexity” position can perform poorly and still score higher than someone excelling in a “lower complexity” role — again, with that complexity being subjectively defined by the scorer.
At our unit, we’re already seeing a significant number of informal resolutions, and we’re only at the performance stage.
Is this being seen elsewhere this year? Interested to hear others’ experiences or perspectives.
