Hey everyone.
Although it was mentioned in the discussion thread when it was released, I'd like to hear Christian opinions on episode 97.
It's well-known that Land of the Lustrous incorporates many Buddhist elements, but I believe it also incorporates elements from other religions.
I notice that episode 97 is intended to depict the "Last Supper." I also see that the blood and flesh of Christ are replaced in this scene with Dr. Ayumu's blood and chips.
Kongo's refusal to drink Dr. Ayumu's blood can be interpreted as him refusing to carry on Dr. Ayumu's will (burn the bridge). As I'm not religious, I don't understand it any further. However, I feel this chapter has a deeper meaning. Here are some things I think might be significant; please let me know if you have any insights!
- Is Kongo Judas Iscariot?
In Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper," Kongo appears to be in the position of Judas Iscariot. It's true that Kongo, who prioritized the immediate happiness of the Gems and therefore failed to follow the path Dr. Ayumu showed him, could be considered a traitor. Are there any arguments to support or refute this view?
- Does the shape of the goblet have any meaning?
The Holy Grail, having received Dr. Ayumu's blood, has a unique shape, as if it had melted and been distorted by heat. For no particular reason, it reminded me of a lily flower. Can you speculate on any intention behind the shape of this goblet?
- Hexagon
When Kongo awoke, the nail (?) behind his head and the area around his feet were depicted as a hexagon. Does this design or composition have any Christian significance?
Please let me know if you noticed anything else!
