Best Mediterranean yacht charter destinations for families?
Hey everyone,
We're planning a family yacht charter in the Med this summer (2026) with kids aged 4–12 and want somewhere that's not just beautiful, but actually practical and fun for little ones. Calm waters for swimming/snorkeling, safe anchorages, nice beaches, some easy exploration without too much hassle, and good food options.
We've narrowed it down to a few spots but would love your real experiences:
- Croatia (Dalmatia coast) – Dubrovnik, Hvar, Vis, Kornati Islands. Heard it's great for island-hopping with kids, lots of calm bays and medieval towns they can actually enjoy.
- Greek Islands – Especially the Ionian (Corfu, Lefkada, Kefalonia) for calmer waters and easier sailing, or some of the less crowded Cyclades/Sporades.
- Balearic Islands (Spain) – Mallorca or Menorca. Protected coves, great beaches, water toys, and family-friendly vibe. Ibiza's north coast also gets mentioned as surprisingly chill for families.
- Italy – Amalfi Coast / Capri or Sardinia. Amazing scenery and gelato, but is it too busy or dramatic with young kids?
Others worth considering? French Riviera, Malta, Turkey (Fethiye area), or Cyprus?
Any destinations you’d avoid with young kids and why?
Any recommended Yacht Charter company?
Thanks in advance
