There is a lot of talk about AI taking jobs and how that impacts an individual worker etc; but the more existential question is if the trading of goods and services, including our labor, in a free market can withstand an efficiency boom from AI. If the producers efficiency does not include growth of labor could the system collapse? We have been down a similar path before with the Industrial Revolution but this may be a much more profound shift. A new economic model needs to emerge.
