Hey guys, I was wondering how long items usually stay on your account before being purchased? What would you say is the cut-off point where you decide to lower the price?

Is Vinted better for buying or selling?

I’m curious what people mainly use Vinted for, do you find it better for buying cheap clothes/items, or is it actually worth it as a seller too?
Are there certain types of shops/brands/items that sell really well or are best to hunt for bargains on?

Hi all,

I’m from the UK and pretty new to Reddit, so still figuring everything out.

I recently started trying item flipping as a side hustle, but I haven’t had much success so far. My goal is just to make an extra £100–£200 a week because of the cost of living.

First, I started scanning Facebook Marketplace, but to my surprise a lot of things seem priced really high already. A lot of sellers are listing items at basically eBay prices, or only £5 lower, so there doesn’t seem to be much room for profit. After 1–2 days of general scrolling, I only found maybe one item that looked worth buying.

I also tried charity shops, but most of the ones near me are mainly clothes or random household items, and not much branded stuff. Occasionally I’ll see games or toys, but even then it feels like I’d be lucky to make £10 profit.

So my question to people in the UK is: how do you actually do this consistently?

I get that people probably don’t want to give away all their secrets, but I’d really appreciate any advice on:

  • where you source items
  • what platforms you sell on
  • how you find deals with enough margin

Also, where do you usually sell your flipped items?

Thanks.
