Hey everyone,

after dealing with a pulmonary embolism at the end of last year and trying to get back into things this year (with a few small setbacks), I’m still mainly zwifting due to blood thinners and an inert panic of internal bleeding should I crash.

I’ve noticed that when I ride with the 1.5 W/kg pacer, my heart rate starts around 130–135 bpm and gradually climbs to about 165–175 bpm by the end of a 60–75 minute session. What feels strange is that my legs and muscles still feel pretty good, like I’ve got more left in the tank.

Since I’m basically starting fresh again, I’m wondering: if I'm riding 5 times a week for 60–90 minutes, is it likely that my heart rate will come down over time? As in, will the same 1.5 W/kg pacer eventually only put me in the 130–140 bpm range?

Maybe I'm just asking how to get fit... idk.
