New Caltrain rider here.
I’ve taken the train between 4th St. and San Carlos a couple times this month. On my first ride around 7pm, I couldn’t get the WiFi to connect at all on either my MacBook or iPhone, even after multiple tries.
Tried again today and it connected instantly. Speeds were actually pretty solid and consistent.
The only real difference I noticed was that today’s train was much less crowded.
Does passenger load affect whether you can connect at all? I would expect slower speeds with more people, but not a complete failure to connect.
