What can I do to pass hard stool with extreme soreness due to hours of constipation?
Had a hard stool that would not come out at 5pm. Spent 1.5 hours on the toilet trying everything (Vaseline, lube). Nothing worked so I gave up for a few hours as I had plans.
Got home around 11pm and picked up Microlax on the way. Inserted the first dose around 11pm, second dose around midnight. Both times sat on the toilet but only a bit of liquid came out.
My anus is extremely sore from all the straining and attempts earlier. In the early morning next day, almost nothing came out came out but the pain was so bad I couldn’t continue.
What should I do (5am now)? Will painkillers help enough to let me relax and pass the rest? Should I just sleep and try in the morning? At what point do I need to go to the ER?
