why do professors tend to skip midterms/finals

i’d guess they take it as like some kind of break day since they’re not teaching anything anyway, but like, isn’t it a pretty important day lol, wouldn’t it be required for them to be there, especially if students want some clarification or questions that only the person who made the exam might know, instead of a TA

just something i thought about, not hating or anything i don’t really ask any questions during exams anyway

any TAs/profs know why it happens or have ideas

Hey so I’m planning on taking 8 units during session 1 of summer, and when I was looking into the costs there’s a few things I found confusing. To my understanding, 8 units would be equivalent to $2328 for the units plus the $414.26 for the session itself, but I wanted some clarifications for the other costs, I don’t really get the difference between off-campus (i’m guessing orchard park/the green maybe?) and commuters, as well as why there would be housing and food costs for either. Also, there are many additional costs mentioned on the site which I was wondering if they are all required or can some of them be avoided if we don’t need them? Shouldn’t it just be $2742.26 total for the units + session. As for the rest like books/supplies, housing/food, personal (??), and transportation (???), will those even be a part of it if my classes don’t have books/supplies and I’m choosing my own housing and idek about personal/transportation.

Anything helps lol.

what’s some good song recs for the gym, trying to build up a playlist lol

also, does anyone understand the markers for the track, i’m pretty sure it’s 1.05 miles for 8 laps bc of the 7.65 laps being like 1 mile thing, but for the 1 mile marker on mwf clockwise, is the starting point at the sign next to the cubbies or the lockers/treadmills, also, is there a 1 mile marker for the counterclockwise on other days bc i might be blind but i’ve never seen one (very unrelated but was thinking about both while running the track earlier lol)
