Hello,

My boyfriend and I are getting a kitten today, we are doing this in hopes our current cat, Eevee, will enjoy the company as the shelter told us she enjoyed being by herself and with company but we've noticed a lot of signs that she misses cat company.

Obviously we are going to keep the new kitten, Luigi, in a different room for a few days to get them used to each other slowly, and the room we chose was our bedroom. Eevee likes the bedroom but it's unfortunately the only space we can separate Luigi in.

We have decorated the bedroom for Luigi, he has a kitty litter box, food and water bowl, a string toy, a bed, a blanket, some toys and a scratching pole.

I was trying to nap about an hour ago and the bedroom door must've cracked open because I was woken by Eevee scratching at the cat scratch in the bedroom.

We didn't want Eevee seeing the room decorated in case she thought it was for her, and then gets angry that Luigi is stealing her things, but then when I googled it Google said it could help our resident cat.

Would Eevee benefit from seeing the bedroom before we get Luigi tonight, or would it just make her upset that she had access to all this stuff for a few hours and then it was taken away from her again.

For extra context as I'm usually asked when I seek cat advice; Eevee is 7months old, recently neutered, we got her from a shelter at 3 months old and prior to the shelter was in a hoarders home with 40+ other cats, she is very anxious but loves company and adores anyone who smells of cats and will instantly warm up to them (which is a reason we think she misses cat company)

Luigi is about 10weeks old, my friends ragdoll was able to escape their house and came back pregnant, so he's offered us one of his kittens which we happily accepted. Luigi is not neutered but will be when he's old enough, nor has he had his kittens jags but we will be getting them done asap, as we will be registering him with our vet tonight. We have been told Luigi is a very social and friendly cat, and loves playing with his siblings.
