[Discussion] How do Lantern uniforms work if they are constructs?

[Discussion] How do Lantern uniforms work if they are constructs?

If the uniforms Lanterns wear are constructs, why are they so different from the other constructs the rings make? Why aren't they always glowing? Why aren't they transparent? Where do the other colors on the uniform come from? Don't Lanterns need to concentrate to keep their constructs around? How can they take their uniforms off like normal clothes? What happens to their actual clothes?

This isn't a huge issue, but it has been bugging me for a while.

Do you prefer Generator Rex to be in a different universe to or the same universe as Ben 10

Do you prefer Generator Rex to exist in his own separate universe (like in classic) or be a part of the same universe (like in reboot) as Ben?

What is an alien that you want to turn in to, but are afraid of the consequences of using it?

What is alien that you would like to turn into, but you would be hesitant to use because of the side effects or consequences of using them? I'll give some examples.

  • Rath's rage
  • Heatblast's (or any pyro alien) causing a massive fire
  • Giant aliens like Way Big causing collateral damage
  • NRG and Atomix's radiation emissions
  • Whampire's need to feed
  • Alien X's multiple personalities
  • Big Chill's reproduction cycle
  • The risk of being possessed when using Ghostfreak

If you had an Omnitrix, what would be the first alien you would turn in to?

Personally, I'd turn in to Heatblast. It just feels right to do the first alien to ever appear on screen.

Elita-1's combined form is named "Orthia". Orthia was a local Spartan cult title/form of the goddess Artemis. In one story, Artemis was a companion, and in some accounts, lover, of the giant "Orion". Optimus Prime's pre-Prime name was "Orion" Pax. Optimus Prime and Elita-1 are often portrayed as being in love.

Custom Idea: Concept Art Scourge

Someone should make a custom "Rise of the Beasts" Scourge that makes him look more like his early concept art, when he had wings like in G1.

I accidentally deleted this post.

I found this while scrolling through my files. I made it about a decade ago using art made by RexBlazer1 and some recolors I did. I like how they look, although I would definitely change a few of them now.

  1. Prima - Covenant of Primus Megatronus inspired color scheme.
  2. Vector - Robots in Disguise Megatronus inspired color scheme.
  3. Alpha Trion - Classic supervillain green and purple. I think I'd keep this color scheme, although I also like the idea of a Liege Maximo inspired color scheme.
  4. Solus - Just a hue change filter. I'd change this one.
  5. Micronus - Just a hue change filter. I'd change this one.
  6. Alchemist - Just a hue change filter. I'd change this one.
  7. Nexus - I believe I based this one off Galvatronus.
  8. Onyx - IDW Onyx Prime (Disguised Shockwave) inspired color scheme.
  9. Amalgamous - Just a hue change filter. I'd change this one.
  10. Quintus - The Last Knight Quintessa inspired color scheme.
  11. Liege Maximo - Same colors as the arm Megatron took in the Prime cartoon that was retconned to be Maximo's. I think I'd keep this color scheme, although I also like the idea of a Alpha Trion inspired color scheme.
  12. Megatronus - Covenant of Primus Prima inspired color scheme.
  13. Purposely didn't include for ambiguity

Spider-Man 3 almost had a comic accurate black suit, but it was scrapped because it looked like it came from a "different" kind of movie. The final version looked cool, but was just a recolor of the normal suit with a few tweaks.

I have some ideas about how you could redesign the black suit so it is more unique, but still comic accurate.

First off, you take the unused suit. That costume is already comic accurate. It is all black with white eyes and spider symbols wrapping around the torso. You then give it the textures from the final suit. That already fixes the big issue that got the original scrapped in the first place. Then give it the bigger eyes with the silver rims to make it look more aggressive. You now have a perfect Raimi style, comic accurate black suit that should be fit for screen.

But if that is not enough, you can do what the Spectacular Spider-Man did and add some webbing to the boots, gloves, mask, and collar. That adds just a bit more detail to the suit. I wouldn't include webbing on the arms or belt. That makes it so it isn't a direct carry over from the normal red and blue costume. I also think the full web pattern would clash with the flow of the symbols. It wouldn't be 100% comic accurate, but it would still be more faithful and more unique compared to what we got in the end.

The suit renders in this image come from Nachoman on Deviantart.

I was having trouble with the cape connector piece that came with DNA Design's DK-75 Prima kit. It stays on, but likes to flop around and droop. It also gets in the way during transformation, I've seen that a lot of other people have had the same problems.

I ended up finding a 3D replacement piece on ebay. Here is the link. It arrived not too long ago and it has been great. It has a longer peg, so it actually stays in place. The connection is tight. It isn't as wide as the original, meaning it doesn't get in the way during transformation and you can actually use the peg holes on the sides of the bumper. It is also compatible with the Achai kit.

The only downsides are that it is colored black and it has a rough texture that lets you know it is 3D printed, but that it isn't too much of a problem if you are good with paint, sanding, or don't mind it as is. It is also a bit pricey for just a few pieces. It is almost $20.

We already know that Ben's original playlist in the comics is going to be the same as the Reboot's, but there will likely be more added if the series goes on long enough. Do you think all the additional aliens will be taken from the shows or do you think there will be brand new aliens? Should there be new aliens?

I was disappointed that the new Studio Scourge was just a reissue of the old one, so I decided to make my own.

I already had the original release, plus the DNA kit and these gap fillers that fix the smokestacks I found on ebay. I ordered the Machine Capsule kit and the Baiwei knock off. Once I had them all, I began mixing and matching the pieces.

  • Most of the upper torso and the cannon are official
  • The head, arms, and blade are DNA
  • The entire lower torso, shoulders, and the rubbery part of the truck grill are Baiwei
  • The claw and neck brace are Machine Capsule

The figure can still transform, but there is a bit of partsforming. You have to remove the shoulder pads and put on truck hood pieces. Both the DNA and Baiwei hood pieces can be used.

One of the most controversial retcons was the decision to make Gwen’s magic something rooted in alien heritage. I think I have a way to retcon the retcon, without creating the same continuity headache created in Omniverse by Kevin and the Osmosians. I didn’t undo anything, I just made a few tweaks and expansions to make Anodites more connected to the magical side of the franchise.

Here is my updated lore for the Anodites.

Manna is the hidden mystic life energy that permeates all of nature, being found in everything from aliens to humans to plants. It is the substance of magic and all the Manna in the universe flows from Legerdomain.

Anodites are beings formed from the living flow of Manna that spills out of Ledgerdomain into the wider universe. Rather than evolving naturally on a single world, they emerge wherever magical energy becomes concentrated enough to generate self-aware life. Because of this, Anodites are not a conventional biological species, but living magical entities made of and sustained by Manna itself.

Although Anodites can arise wherever Manna gathers in sufficient quantities, they are naturally drawn to worlds rich in magical energy. Over time, they settle on such worlds, using them as places to sustain themselves, mature, and form communities. Anodyne became the primary home of the Anodites because of its immense Manna saturation.

Young Anodites glow blue, reflecting their still-developing Manna state. As they mature they shift to pink, the color most commonly associated with pure Manna. When an Anodite becomes corrupted or polluted, impurities spread through their Manna and turn it red, producing a more volatile and destructive state.

Because Anodites are not bound by ordinary biology, they do not reproduce in only one way. One method is a form of energetic convergence, in which two or more Anodites share portions of their Manna. If that energy achieves the right balance, a new Anodite consciousness is formed.

Anodites are also capable of generating host bodies, fully organic forms designed to be perfect genetic members of another species. Through such bodies, Anodites can live among other species and even have children with them. However, because the host body is genetically identical to the species it was modeled after, any child produced this way is biologically 100% of that species rather than a genetic hybrid. The Anodite is still truly that child’s parent, but what is passed down is not alien biology, but more spiritual or incorporeal. Most descendants live as completely ordinary members of their own species, with no outward sign of their ancestry. A rare few inherit a "Flicker" or “the Spark”. They aren't genes, but a dormant more metaphysical connection to Anodite Manna.

A Flicker is the weaker manifestation. Those who possess it have only a limited sensitivity to Manna, especially the ability to sense magical forces, supernatural presences, or nearby Anodites. They cannot truly manipulate Manna like an Anodite, but the Flicker keeps that connection alive within the bloodline.

The Spark is a far stronger and rarer manifestation. Those who possess it have a natural affinity for Manna that far exceeds that of ordinary magic-users. While most human sorcerers must spend years learning the discipline, technique, and control needed to manipulate Manna, a Spark-bearer can manipulate Manna far more instinctively. Their power still requires guidance, but their link to Manna is immediate and deeply internal. What causes a Spark to awaken and develop may vary from one individual to another. In some cases, it may emerge later in life on its own, while in others it may be drawn out or accelerated by repeated exposure to things like magic or magical artifacts.

A Spark-bearer can eventually shed their physical form and become a true Anodite. This transformation is often seen as an ascension by other Anodites, but it carries a profound cost. Anodites are intensely free-spirited beings, and most do not experience life the way humans do. As long-lived pseudo-cosmic/magic entities made of living Manna, they tend to view mortal concerns as fleeting and temporary. The attachments, fears, moral boundaries, and personal tragedies that define so much of human life often seem to Anodites like passing moments in a much larger current.

Because of this, many Anodites develop a detached and pleasure-driven outlook. They often follow their own desires, curiosities, and impulses without placing much importance on the moral consequences as humans would understand them. This does not necessarily make them cruel, but it does make them dangerously indifferent. They may help countless people, offer wisdom, or perform acts of staggering generosity, yet still remain emotionally distant from the lives they affect.

Anodites also tend not to associate closely with what they might dismiss as “just-plain folks”. This can make them seem condescending toward non-energy beings, but to Anodites, most people are brief and fragile souls, here for an instant and gone just as quickly. Even when they care, they often do so from a distance, as one might admire or pity something too temporary to fully understand.

For this reason, it is dangerous for a Spark-bearer to become a full Anodite. A person who fully sheds their mortal body can recreate and inhabit their old form if they choose, but they do not truly remain the same person afterward. In becoming a full Anodite, they gain the same widened perspective, detachment, and altered sense of self that defines the species as a whole. Their human emotions, priorities, and moral instincts begin to loosen. The life they once knew starts to feel smaller, shorter, and less immediate. The person may still remember who they were, may still wear the same face, and may still care in some distant way, but they will never again experience the world as a human being. They become one of the same distant, spaced-out higher beings as the other Anodites

Owlman was originally created as Batman’s evil counterpart from Earth-3, but later stories added the twist that he is not actually an evil version of Bruce Wayne. Instead, he is Bruce’s brother, Thomas Wayne Jr., a character who does not even (usually) exist in the main continuity. That has always felt like a strange addition. Ultraman, Power Ring, Johnny Quick, and most other Earth-3 characters (minus Superwoman, who is a whole other can of worms) are direct counterparts to their heroic versions, so why is Owlman different?

What makes it even stranger is that the idea has barely been used in any meaningful way. Earth-3 Bruce’s death is said to affect Thomas more deeply than even the loss of their parents, yet stories rarely explore what that actually means for him. Batman and Owlman also almost never meaningfully acknowledge the fact that they are supposed to be parallel-universe brothers. Because of that, the twist does not really add much. I feel that you could remove the brother angle from nearly every version of Owlman’s origin, make him simply an evil Bruce Wayne, and very little would actually change.

The only time the brothers aspect has felt like it mattered was when they introduced a version of Owlman who is part of the same universe as Batman, but that Owlman is very different from the ones we are used to.

Do you prefer Nemesis Prime to be:

  • A Unicron-created clone of Optimus
  • A human-created clone of Optimus
  • A Quintesson-created clone of Optimus
  • An evil Optimus from an alternate future/parallel universe
  • A brainwashed Optimus
  • Optimus' corrupted predecessor, Nova Prime

Bumblebee movie Optimus Prime is one of the figures that Hasbro needs to remake for the Studio Series line. The original 38 figure is great, but it isn't accurate to the movie. They should repaint and retool the Rise of the Beasts Optimus Prime into a new version of the Bumblebee design.
