Just started accruing fieldwork hours - Looking to hear of some other people’s experiences becoming a BCBA.

Hello everyone! I completed undergrad a year and a half ago. A couple months ago I started an ABA master’s program and am expecting to graduate in Feb 2028. I am in a student analyst program at my current clinic and I’m feeling really overwhelmed and nervous about fieldwork hours. I’m brand new to this clinic and this is my first month accruing hours. So far I’ve only accrued hours from direct client sessions and group meetings, so I haven’t had a chance to complete any other tasks for unrestricted hours. Im just worried because I’m so early in my master’s program that I don’t know a lot of things yet. Like what if my BCBA asks me to do something on the learning tree and I have no idea how? I may be running a parent training soon as well. I’m just feeling really nervous about doing these things correctly.

Also, the number of hours I have to accrue is daunting. I’m doing the concentrated route so I will only need 1500 hours and 7.5% supervision. Keeping track of all of these hours is going to be so hard as well. And making sure I’m always getting enough supervision. I have ADHD so I just hope I can stay organized throughout this process.

Anyone who is currently going through or already has gone through the process of becoming a BCBA - Please share your experience and any feel free to drop any advice you may have. I know it’s going to be a lot of hard work but I don’t have many people to talk to about this!
