Former AWS DCO contractor — looking to return / questions about Network Deploy

Hey everyone,

I was a contractor Data Center Operations Technician at AWS, but my team (along with a few others) got impacted by downsizing due to over-hiring.

During my \~5 months there, I stayed in good contact with my manager and received really positive feedback. He mentioned that I was on track to be converted to a full-time AWS employee if I kept performing the way I was.

Since then, I’ve picked up another role to continue building my experience.

I’m still very interested in going back to Amazon as a DCO, but I’ve also been looking into Network Deployment and the teams under that umbrella. I’ve been checking for L3 roles in Ohio, but haven’t had any luck so far.

A couple questions:

Does anyone know when these roles typically open back up?

Why do so many people transition from DCO to Network Deploy?

Data Center Technician (Meta/AWS experience) — trying to move into network/cloud roles. Resume feedback?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently working as a Data Center Technician (supporting Meta through EOS) and previously worked at AWS as a DCO contractor.

My goal is to move into network engineering, cloud roles, or eventually L3/L4-level positions.

I’m looking for feedback on:

- How I can improve my resume

- What roles I should target next

- Any skills or certs I should prioritize

I’m currently based in Ohio, if that helps in any way

Appreciate any honest feedback.
