I keep getting told that I need to not be a heal bot. Do more damage. Find off angles. Stop asking my teammates to change what they want to do, and just play my own game. Ok, it's a team game but I'll do only what I want. I guess.
So I play healer in 6v6 and there are always, always, 3 DPS. So, instead of worrying about them, because they aren't worried about supporting the team, I'll play how I want. Well, I feel bad for the one tank. And the DPS clearly don't think we need healers because they chose DPS and we have 3 (or 4). So, I focus more on damage and being aggressive, but I stay in line of my tank to help out the other "team player".
First game I did almost as much damage as our DPS but I had even more healing. With only 1 tank, they were focused a lot. Without a second tank to support our main tank (zarya bubbling rein reduces the healing that rein needs, etc) I basically healed the tank most of the time.
But now my DPS are yelling at me in chat to do more healing. I STILL have more heals than damage, I thought I needed to do MORE damage?
One guy cursed me out for not healing and I asked "why does it matter, you didn't think we needed a second healer since you're the 4th DPS, I just followed your lead and didn't care about healing".
See, much of the rhetoric on these forums is people trying to convince the community that their selfish, non team oriented choices are good ones. In reality those same people want *everyone else* to play as a team player and support *them*.
Even funnier fact about 3 to 4 DPS....blizzard resticts the number of tanks in 6v6 because *it's too strong to have 3 or more* but they don't care if you have 3-4 DPS...because it's not OP. The best lineup in the history of the game was all tanks and supports, but people still think 4 DPS on a team is a strong.
Also I still see people defending healers who do more damage than heal. I just did a quick Google search for ml7 ana video...2k damage, 10k heals. Is ml7 a "healbot"? According to people here he is. The "do more damage" comments here are from DPS players switching to healer and trying to defend their lack of healing. And it's worked.
