I guess I’ve always liked texturally intricate music. Especially. Stabbing Westward, Cranberries, Smashing Pumpkins, The Cure, and Nine Inch Nails.
But lately, I haven’t really scratched that itch. I’ve been listening to a lot of dark wave, no wave, dungeon, synth, and things of that nature. There was a time I liked KMFDM, but lately I’ve been craving something that has layers of melody, not unlike either Disintegration by the Cure or the Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails.
I’m curious as to whether or not there are more contemporary artists that have come out with similar music in the past 10 years that I am unaware of.
What are everyone’s thoughts on this?
