Hey there!

I have a two-year-old male Aussie, Finn.

Over the last couple of weeks he’s been refusing to eat all but a small fraction of his food.

We recently had an issue with two separate bags of Purina pro plan from two separate stores being infested with moth larva so that was a major issue. So we switched to Hill science diet large breed food.

I also have an 11-year-old hound female that’s having zero issues eating.

Recently, Finn has not wanted to really eat, if at all. It’s starting to worry me. However, I know he’s hungry because he will beg for snacks, beg for treats. This dog will fly up your ass for a crumb off of your plate.

He recently had a little weekend away at my father-in-law’s, and I told him to watch him eat. He said that he had no problem eating, and even gave him ground turkey with some bacon for dinner, and sometimes scrambled eggs in the morning.

When he came back home, he has not wanted to eat, even if I put that stuff on his food.

What’s hilarious, is when I bought the new bag of hill, science diet, when I put it in the container, he was eating it out of the container like he had never eaten before. Now all of a sudden he wants nothing to do with his food.

Sometimes I notice that Finn is more interested in playing than eating. His entire brain has one thought, “throw the ball”.

I’m just a little concerned because I want my boy to be healthy and happy.

I know sometimes he prefers more of the “human looking” food. Would it be out of the question to maybe switch him to a softer diet? Or maybe mix it with the hill science diet?
