I have a Sunn Beta Mini on order, and I’m looking to potentially build a custom cab to cover some of its unique capabilities. I’ll sum up what it does in short: 200 watts max at 4-8 ohms. Voicing can be switched/blended between guitar/lead and bass on either channel.
It’s a Sunn amp, so I wanna do Sunn stuff with it, but I might also be using it as a clean pedal platform. 2x12 configuration seems like it makes the most sense logistically for me, so I’m looking at speakers like the Weber Black Shuck (pretty much a bass speaker with a guitar cone) or the Eminence Deltalite 2512 (I reached out to Sunn and this was recommended as a good option for my needs.)
Let me know if you have used either of these speakers and what your thoughts were, or if you just have any general recs for me. I’m not looking to get the most pristine hifi bass tone or super warm vintage guitar tone from this setup. I’m gonna throw a P bass and mostly down tuned guitars in front of it. If I can get a Roland or Peavey-ish big headroom clean for guitar too, that would be a bonus.
