Sting operation and media involvement, non-LEO badgers suspect. Maryland
A DC Metropolitan Police lieutenant was arrested in a Sting Operation after a month long online sexual relationship with police posing as a 15 year old boy. Chris Hansen of To Catch a Predator fame was present and asked the handcuffed suspect questions. The only answer given by the suspect was that he needed an attorney.

The encounter is on YouTube. The DC lieutenant lives in Maryland so didn't cross state lines.
Does having a non police officer involved jeopardize the case in anyway? Police can't interview a suspect that remains silent, but what if the police have a civilian browbeat the suspect? If the suspect tells Chris something is it admissible if the suspect isn't Mirandized?
